Firefly was Whedon's next success and it's safe to say that she created a buzz. Summer Glau's River Tam was a complicated role that Glau was able to handle with ease. The character of Summer Glau, Tam was compelled to take part in government-sponsored tests in order to prepare her for the role of an ideal assassin. Tam could not control her feelings as a consequence. On Firefly Glau was able to show off not only her acting abilities but her ability to fight. Being being trained to be an assassin allowed Glau to show off her athletic ability. Summer Glau, a trained classical ballerina. She also has studied tango and Flamenco, but an injury to her foot put an end to her dancing career. Firefly was on only for just one season but it had a large fanbase.
